The back panel often features a matte or glossy finish, depending on the color variant, and houses a vertically-aligned dual or triple camera module. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button for fast and convenient biometric authentication. Its body is made of high-quality polycarbonate with a metallic-like coating, providing a premium look while keeping the weight low. The device is generally comfortable to hold, with a thickness of around 8 mm and a weight in the range of 190-200 grams.

Display

The smartphone comes with a 6.6-inch to 6.78-inch IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution, typically around 2400 x 1080 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smooth scrolling and improved responsiveness during gaming or video playback. The display offers good brightness levels, usually peaking around 500 to 600 nits, making it visible in outdoor conditions. Color reproduction is accurate for the price range, and the screen is well-calibrated for casual media consumption, browsing, and social media use.

Performance

Under the hood, the Infinix Note 50s 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity chipset, typically from the Dimensity 6100 or 6080 series, built on a 6nm or 7nm process. This processor includes an octa-core CPU configuration with two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The GPU is a Mali-G57 MC2 or similar, capable of handling moderate gaming and multitasking with relative ease.

RAM configurations generally start at 6GB and go up to 8GB, with support for virtual RAM expansion. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB of internal UFS 2.2 storage, expandable via microSD card through a dedicated slot.

Software

The Infinix Note 50s 5G runs on XOS, Infinix’s custom user interface based on Android 13 or Android 14, depending on the production batch. XOS includes custom features such as system-wide dark mode, game optimization tools, split-screen multitasking, and a dedicated kids’ mode. While XOS is feature-rich, it may include some pre-installed applications that can be removed or disabled by the user.

Cameras

The device features a dual or triple rear camera setup, often headlined by a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. This camera delivers respectable performance in well-lit conditions with decent detail retention and color balance. The secondary sensor is typically a 2MP depth sensor or AI lens that assists in portrait shots.

On the front, there’s an 8MP or 16MP selfie camera housed in a centered punch-hole or a teardrop notch, depending on the model variant. The front camera supports AI beautification, portrait mode, and HDR for enhanced selfies. Both rear and front cameras support 1080p video recording at 30fps, with EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) available for basic video stabilization.

Battery and Charging

Powering the Infinix Note 50s 5G is a large 5000mAh battery, which provides up to two days of moderate usage on a single charge. It supports 33W fast charging via USB Type-C, which can charge the device from 0 to 100 percent in around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Battery optimization settings are also present in the software to extend standby and usage time further.

Connectivity

The defining feature of the Note 50s 5G is its support for 5G connectivity, ensuring faster download and upload speeds where networks are available. Other connectivity features include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and VoLTE. The device also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio functionality, which are appreciated by users in regions where these features are still commonly used.

Audio and Multimedia

The phone comes with a single bottom-firing speaker or dual stereo speakers, depending on the configuration. The sound quality is tuned for clarity in vocals and decent bass for media consumption. DTS audio enhancement is usually included to improve the overall sound profile. The large screen and good audio make it suitable for video streaming and casual gaming.

Security and Sensors

The Infinix Note 50s 5G includes multiple security features such as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock. Other sensors onboard include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, compass, and gyroscope. These sensors are crucial for gaming and AR applications and ensure smooth app and system behavior.

Summary

The Infinix Note 50s 5G offers a compelling package for budget users who want to access 5G networks, enjoy a high-refresh-rate display, and have a dependable battery life. While it may not compete with flagship devices in terms of performance or camera quality, it delivers solid value for everyday use with a modern design and balanced hardware.
