Description

Logitech Expansion Microphone for MeetUp ConferenceCam – Detailed Feature Description

The Logitech Expansion Mic for MeetUp is an accessory designed to extend the voice pickup capabilities of the Logitech MeetUp ConferenceCam, which is optimized for small meeting spaces and huddle rooms and is available at Mobihub Electronics Kenya. This expansion microphone enables more inclusive and effective communication by allowing individuals seated farther from the camera to be heard clearly and naturally.

Purpose and Compatibility

• Exclusive for MeetUp: The expansion mic is designed specifically for the Logitech MeetUp all-in-one ConferenceCam. It connects directly to the MeetUp unit and operates as an integrated part of the audio system.

• Plug-and-Play Simplicity: No software, configuration, or external power is needed. The microphone operates immediately upon connection, making deployment fast and straightforward.

Audio Performance

• Extended Pickup Range: While the built-in microphones on the MeetUp ConferenceCam are ideal for participants seated within approximately 4 meters (13.1 feet), the expansion mic extends the effective pickup range to approximately 5 meters (16.4 feet). This provides improved audio coverage for longer tables or more widely spaced seating.

• Omnidirectional Pickup: The microphone captures sound in a 360-degree radius, ensuring all voices around the table are picked up clearly, regardless of seating position.

• Consistent Audio Quality: Designed to work seamlessly with the MeetUp’s built-in audio processing, the expansion mic ensures uniform voice capture with minimal latency, dropouts, or distortion.

Controls and Indicators

• Mute Functionality: A touch-sensitive mute button is located on the microphone, giving users control to mute the microphone input without needing to interact with the base unit.

• LED Status Ring: The microphone includes a circular LED indicator that mirrors the mute status of the system, providing clear visual feedback that helps prevent accidental speaking while muted.

Physical Design and Build

• Compact and Low-Profile: The microphone has a small, puck-like design that sits discreetly on the table. Its low height and smooth form factor allow it to blend unobtrusively into modern meeting spaces.

• Durable Construction: Built with commercial-grade materials to support frequent handling and long-term use in professional environments.

Cabling and Placement

• Long Cable Length: The microphone comes with a permanently attached cable approximately 6 meters (nearly 20 feet) in length, providing flexibility in placement across a variety of meeting room layouts.

• Fixed Connection: The cable terminates in a proprietary connector that plugs directly into the dedicated expansion port on the back of the MeetUp camera unit.
